New Paintings by Janine Evers and Naya Bricher

Four Eleven is pleased to present Sweet Land: New Works by Janine Evers and Naya Bricher. The artists are both contemporary Provincetown painters whose kaleidoscopic palettes are bursting with Spring color!
Evers’ and Bicher’s works explore the richness and delight of spaces, both real and imagined. Evers paints organic, abstracted terrains evocative of underwater gardens with curious sea forms. Bricher, on the other hand, paints hyper-structured, surrealist environments filled with fragments of mid century architecture, edges of mirrored reflections, swimming pools and even the interior of a refrigerator. As wildly different as their subjects may be, Evers and Bricher both shape spaces with color and planes that give a nod to the teachings of those masters of Provincetown from decades ago, Mr. Hensche and Mr. Hofmann. Today’s Provincetown, as expressed through Evers’ and Bricher’s gaze, exudes joy, mystery, playfulness and not a little bit of irony. It’s an honor to host their works together and witness the dialog which emerges between the paintings.
