HELEN GRIMM: OUTER CAPE PAINTINGS

In her fourth season with the gallery, Helen delights again with new paintings of ponds, dunes and mussel shells done in the spring and summer of this year. She paints with a freedom and confidence in her brushstrokes and in her use of color. This year Helen's palette is softened by silvers, whites and a stunning array of greens. These are spontaneous and alive works! Local art historian Maura Coughlin writes "Grimm’s recent paintings cross back and forth across the terrains of abstraction and representation, and often linger on the border between these states, in preference for neither, often remaining on the threshold."
